Dilantha Malagamuwa appointed Tourism Ambassador




Minister of Tourism, Milinda Moragoda appointed Dilantha Malagamuwa, the winner of several motor car races and the inaugural Aston Martin  Asia Cup (AMAC) motor car race held in Shanghai International Circuit last  month, as a Tourism Ambassador.


Dilantha beat a Singaporean and an Australian driver to secure the winner’s position.


The AMAC roared into life at the Shanghai International Circuit, with 2 dramatic action packed races providing plenty of drama and excitement for a large crowd.


Dilantha who is highly respected in the international motor car racing circuit, will be competing in Malaysia on the Sepang F1 circuit on 21 and 22nd of June, 2008.


Dilantha already has a “Visit Sri Lanka” sticker on his Porsche and has brought glory to Sri Lanka with his winning streak.


On his visit to the Ministry last week, he met the Minister of Tourism, Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism, George Michael, Chairman, Sri Lanka Tourism, Renton de Alwis and Managing Director, SLTPB, Dileep Mudadeniya.

Dilantha, accompanied by his Manager, G. Silva Jothi of Speed Sri Lanka said, “I am delighted to be recognized by the Ministry of Tourism and being appointed a Tourism Ambassador. I will do my utmost to promote my motherland bringing her pride and more glory.”
