Moragoda wants Speaker to expedite Opposition's no-faith motion against him
A group of Opposition parliamentarians yesterday gave notice to the Speaker W.J.M. Lokubandara of a no-confidence motion in Parliament against the Minister of Tourism, Milinda Moragoda.
A press release issued by the Ministry yesterday stated that the Minister of Tourism, Milinda Moragoda was reported to have written to the Speaker requesting the latter to take up the no-confidence motion for debate in Parliament as soon as possible so that the Minister would be able to convince Parliament that he had not breached the trust placed in him.

Maharoof to vote against Milinda No Faith Motion - says more UNPers would follow suit
The letter to Wickremesinghe states: "I was amazed...former...UNFA parliamentarians Mangala Samaraweera and Sripathy Sooriyarachchi moving a no-confidence motion against Milinda Moragoda...it was they who were responsible for the defeat of the UNP at the last Presidential Elections...Permitting them to proceed...will be tantamount to betraying the trust placed by 4.7 million voters towards the UNP...I sincerely hope that we will not be requested to back the proposed no-confidence motion...since many will not be supportive of such a move...instead of creating more damage to our party by accomodating these two persons...better to bring back those 17 to build back the party unity and strength...if the said no-confidence motion is taken up, I will be compelled to vote against such a motion...Moragoda has...not encouraged political mudslinging on any individual whereas ...Mangala Samaraweera's credentials are questionable…
