Minister Moragoda meets with Lord Mandelson in London

 

Justice and Law Reforms Minister Milinda Moragoda met Lord Peter Mandelson the First Secretary of State, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, President of the Board of Trade, Lord President of the Council and former European Commissioner for Trade during his working visit to the United Kingdom this week.


The Minister was able to exchange ideas with Lord Mandelson on the opportunities and challenges for Sri Lanka in the post-conflict period and of the short- and medium-term plans for the Ministry of Justice and Law Reforms. They also discussed other matters of mutual interest between the two countries. Earlier, Minister Moragoda also met Shadow Foreign Secretary and a senior member of the Conservative Shadow Cabinet, William Hague MP. Mr. Hague was also a former Leader of the British Conservative Party. The Minister took this opportunity to brief Mr. Hague on the present situation in Sri Lanka and on the work of the Justice and Law Reforms Ministry.
