AG, Secretary in US; Minister, Chief Justice in Netherlands
 

Suhada Gamlath, Secretary to the Ministry of Justice and Mohan Silva, the Attorney General are on a visit to the United States. The objective of this visit is to research methods on transitional justice, in order to establish a special tribunal to try terror suspects in the island and to research judgments on terror activities, says the Ministry of Justice and Law Reforms. The ministry noted that following a request made by Minister Milinda Moragoda, the USA and the UK had agreed to provide Sri Lanka with laws on terrorist activities, past judgments and share their experience in dealing with terrorism. Furthermore, Minister Moragoda and Chief Justice Asoka De Silva are engaged in a tour of the Netherlands. The ministry added that during this visit they would focus their attention on new law reforms in the Netherlands, which are based on the Roman Dutch Law.
