Sri Lanka Tourism launches a new brand, logo and tagline

 

With the emergence of peace, the rebranding of Sri Lanka’s tourism positioning became not only time-critical, but also mission-critical. “And, Sri Lanka must be able to meet its full potential as one of the most exciting tourist destinations in the world,” Tourism Minister Milinda Moragoda said extending an invitation to all concerned.


The official launch of the new brand for Sri Lanka Tourism will be held on Tuesday June 23, 2009 at the BMICH, Sirimavo Bandaranayaka Exhibition Hall at 6.30 p.m. The Minister further stressed the fact that Sri Lanka has so much to offer, and the capacity to move forward rapidly as the most desired tourist destination.


The new direction and approach the Sri Lanka Tourism will be adopting from today is something that is fresh and unique to the local industry, and there will be several long and short-term projects in the offing, the Minister said in his invitation.


“The official launch will show you the way Sri Lanka Tourism plans to showcase the brand in the most effective way. And, I am confident that the new brand direction will position Sri Lanka as the premier tourist destination,” Milinda Moragoda said.


The Minister further said all will attend the launch with much enthusiasm and learn the reasons behind Sri Lanka Tourism’s new strategy, logo and tagline. “This will give you all an insight into the future of tourism in Sri Lanka,” the Minister said.
