Electric Car to Anuradapura Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi

The Ministry of Tourism planned to provide an Electric car to the Anuradapura Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi premises for the transport of Local and foreign Disabled and elderly tourists. This year the Ministry has allocated Rupees 2.4 Million for this project and Tourism Minister Milinda Moragoda approved the donation of this battery powered car to the North Central Province. Chief Accountant of Tourism Ministry W.Wimalasena handed over the car at a simple ceremony recently to Sugath Nayanannda Assistant Secretary to the Chief minister of the North Central Province. This electric car will not use any kind of fuel or liquid. It is environment friendly and will not emit any smoke. This could carry four passengers at a time and will not cause any damage to the 2600 year old sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bo tree.
