Training workshop for youths
 
 
 

A special one day training workshop for 200 youths selected from Colombo South, (Western and Eastern electorates) was held recently at Shalika Hall, Narahenpita. This workshop was organized by Milinda Moragoda Institute and inaugurated by Parliamentarian Milinda Moragoda. Prof. Tissa Kariyawasam delivered a lecture on open economy, communication for new generation and enjoying with literature. Mahinda Pushpakumara, Chandana Arunadeva and Sujeewa Sampath also spoke on this occasion.

Addressing the participants Mr. Moragoda said, younger generation is very keen on politics but the most important thing is to get together and implement a programme to solve problems in our society. People don't believe or trust politicians. They give thousand of promises such as jobs, promotions, houses, admissions to schools etc. Politicians cannot fulfill all these requirements. There is a solution for that. Let's get together and launch a setup to solve these social problems, he said.

“United National Party tries to give this opportunity to the country. The party isn’t concern about religion, nationality, or cast. We don't try to divide but work together. Everybody has a talent in different fields. Today we can't utilize it without the assistance of politicians. We must change this situation. It can't be done immediately. There should be a dedication for that. The young generation should correct all these mistakes in the society.”

The Colombo Municipal Councilor Sampath Rabukkanage and Community Leaders Sugath Kumara Ariyapperuma, Samudra Jayalath also participated on this occasion.
