A joint Task Force comprising officials from the Defence Ministry and Justice and Legal Reforms Ministry, will be appointed to fight the increasing crime rate in the country, an authoritative source from the Justice and Law Reforms Ministry said.
The Task Force represented by all institutions coming under the two ministries, will have its first meeting early this week, the source said.
"During the last few months, crime rate has reached alarming levels where cases of child abuse, rape, extortion, gang robbery and murder are reported from different parts of the island," he said. |
