Ministerial Changes in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa, has appointed Minister Milinda Moragoda, who was the Minister of Tourism as the Minister of Justice and law Reform. He took oaths this morning.


He fills in the vacancy created by the recently demised Amarasiri Dodangoda who was the Minister of Justice and Law Reform.


Sources revealed that Ministry of Tourism is to be allocated to Nandana Gunatilake of the National Freedom Front headed by Wimal Weerawansa.


Asian Tribune learnt that NFF was bargaining for either the Ministry of Tourism or else the Ministry of Transport.


In the meantime it is learnt that Deputy Minister of Tourism Faiszer Mustapaha is to be appointed as the Minister of State for Tourist Promotion.


These appointments are expected to take place shortly.

Furthermore Asian Tribune learns that Chairmen and those in the executive positions in the Boards and Corporations under the Ministry of Tourism are expected to tender their resignations on a voluntary basis to the new Minister of Tourism to enable him to constitute them according to his choice.
