Retired Lieutenant General Sathis Nambiar is due to arrive in Sri Lanka within the next two weeks to propose the logistics needed for the resettlement of internally displaced persons and security activities in the High Security Zones of the North and East.
Immediately on arrival Lieutenant General Nambiar is due to tour the areas concerned and prepare and hand over to the Government a detailed report.
This was revealed by Economic Reforms, Science and Technology Minister Milinda Moragoda who proceeded to India soon after participating in the latest Peace talks in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand.
Minister Moragoda who met a team of senior officials in India led by Indian Foreign Minister Yashwant Sinha and Defence Consultant and Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary Brajesh Mishra, briefed the Indian Government about the progress made in the fourth session of the first round of discussions between the Sri Lankan Government and the LTTE.
