A new service titled “Sanitation” will be started for the waste management in selected areas of Colombo. This “Sanitation” service, which is implemented under the project “Sanasilla” a concept of Minister for Economic Reform, Science and Technology, Milinda Moragoda, has been formulated for the low-income families who live in estates and shanties. During last few decades, several issues have arisen in connection with health and sanitation due to overflow of lavatories of the hundreds of householders who stay very closely within the limited area. A waste disposal machine is available free of charge under this “Sanitation” program.
