A lecture on ability of using solar batteries as an alternative to electricity consumption was held at the auditorium of Ministry of Economic Reforms Science and Technology recently.

It was done by Prof. I.M. Dharmadasa, a Scientist working at the Sheffield Hallam University of UK.

The capability of using solar batteries instead of electricity consumption in rural areas and the capability of using solar power in agricultural machinery was emphasized at this lecture.

Prof. Dharmadasa was invited to Sri Lanka under the program launched by the Ministry of Economics Reform Science and Technology for obtaining services of expatriate eminent Sri Lankan Scientists of international level.
