Milinda Holds Discussions With Patten

Milinda Moragoda, Minister for Economic Reforms, Science and Technology held discussions yesterday in Brussels with Christopher Patten, Commissioner for External Relations of the European Commission. Moragoda's spokesman said that the meeting in Brussels was a part of the process of individual consultations the Minister is conducting with the Co-Chairs of the Tokyo Conference on the Reconstruction and Rehabilitation of Sri Lanka.

The Spokesman said Moragoda and Patten discussed the continued role of the Co-Chairs, pursuant to the commitments entered into at the Tokyo Conference. Moragoda visited Washington and Oslo before arriving in Brussels to meet Patten. Moragoda is expected to brief Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe on the discussions he had with the Co-Chairs on his arrival in the island early tomorrow.
