In brief - Milinda briefs Indian govt. on peace process

Defence Minister of India George Fernandes yesterday brought home the fact that the security of the two countries is inter-related and has a bearing on each other.

Minister Fernandes made this observation when Economic Reforms Minister Milinda Moragoda called on him during the latter's two day visit to Delhi to brief the Indian government on the latest developments in Sri Lanka's peace process.

Minister Moragoda has also conveyed to the Indian Defence Minister that his Sri Lankan counterpart Tilak Marapana has extended an invitation to Minister Fernandes to visit Sri Lanka. While accepting the invitation Minister Fernandes had said he would make the visit in the near future.

Minister Moragoda who also briefed Indian Foreign Secretary Kanwar Sibal is scheduled to hold a round of discussions with the National Security Adviser Brajesh Mishra.
