This is the fifth Children’s Park in Colombo East to be renovated under the Minister’s Sanasilla Project to provide sports facilities to urban children in the area. Earlier the children’s parks at Gajaba Mawatha, Kirillapona, Mahawatta and Kalinga Mawatha, Kirula were renovated under this program sponsored by the NLB, Development Lottery, Dialog GSM and the Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation Ltd. A fund has now been launched to obtain contributions from the private sector and the public towards this project, said a Ministry release.
