The Minister of Economic Reforms, Science and Technology Milinda Moragoda has appointed a committee to prepare a project proposal to modernize Sri Lanka planetarium under the Department of Meteorology.

Minister at a recent visit to Met Department discussed with officials in the department and informed the Secretary of the Ministry to appoint this committee.

The committee is expected to prepare the project proposal after studying the public shows and the instruments used in the planetarium at present.  The committee members are N.A. Amaradasa, Director, Met Department head of the committee, Mrs. Shan Perera, Seetha Wimalasena, Senior Assistant Secretary, Ministry of Economic Reform, Science and Technology, Mrs. Kanthi Wijethunga.
